Gwinnett police chief Butch Ayers is retiring

Butch Ayers has been with the Gwinnett police department for 35 years and took over as chief in 2014. Deputy Chief Tom Doran, another longtime veteran of GCPD, will take over the chief position effective Nov. 15 officials said.
