Former Ukip deputy chair Suzanne Evans resigns over ‘Momentum-style’ takeover by Tommy Robinson supporters
Another former member of Ukip’s leadership has resigned over the party’s links to far-right EDL founder Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, also known as Tommy Robinson. Suzanne Evans, who was the party’s deputy chairman and ran for leader in 2016, said she has “been increasingly alarmed in recent months by the perverse direction” of the party under its current leader, Gerard Batten.
